Rajnath Singh Becomes First Defence Min to Fly in Light Combat Aircraft

Sept. 19/2019 – Rajnath Singh created history in becoming the first Defence Minister of India to have an experience of flying in a home made light combat aircraft. Today from HAL airport, Bengaluru, Singh flew in Tejas for about 30 minutes in the sky.

Post flight, Singh described the experience as “exhilarating.” That was very smooth and comfortable, which was completely enjoyed by him, he further added. The minister also did not forget to compliment the HAL, DRDO and others which are behind the makings of the fighter jet.

The Defence minister was accompanied by Air Vice Marshal N Tiwari, who is also the Project Director, National Flight Test Centre, ADA (Aeronautical Development Agency) in Bengaluru.

According to an official, such move of the minister itself would boost the morale of our IAF pilots. Now India can also market the jet across the world.
