Sept. 25/2019 – Famous Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg was nominated to get the 2019 Right Livelihood Award, which is popularly known as Sweden’s alternative Nobel Prize.
According to the Right Livelihood Foundation, Thunberg won the award “for inspiring and amplifying political demands for urgent climate action reflecting scientific facts.”
On Monday, at a climate summit at the United Nations in New York, she blamed world leaders for failing to take on climate change. She began solitary weekly protests outside the parliament of Sweden before a year.
Thunberg is on 16 now and she won the award with the other three. The four will get a cash award of $103,000 each.
