Nov. 05/11 – With an aim to resolve the trade dispute with China, US President Donald Trump invited his counterpart Xi Jinping to sign the phase one of a bilateral trade agreement, a top White House official said.
The two largest powers have commenced the trade talks since last November but not reached to any cordial conclusion. Despite a number of negotiations, the gap between them becomes worsen with time.
A month earlier, Trump administration hiked the tariffs on Chinese goods and in response the other did the same thing. The faceoff has resulted into the fluctuation of global economy.
US National Security Advisor Robert O’Brien said, “President Trump has invited President Xi to the United States if we are able to get that deal to sign phase one trade agreement, we’ll have to see if that comes to pass or not. I am optimistic about it, I may actually say I’m cautiously optimistic about it.”
