JNU Students Continue to Protest over Fee Hike

Nov. 19/11 – The Students Union of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) is still protesting with the demand of complete rollback of fee hike by the varsity administration. With it, the agitation reached eighth day.

Last day, the defiant students marched to Parliament on the very first day of winter session. They broke the barricade set by the security personnel and did not hesitate to clash with police. To keep control over the situation, the cops had to assault them.

The police action against the students is being heavily criticized by some political parties and people. However, people across the country are pouring down their support towards Delhi police on various social media channels.

The JNU administration had first revised the fee from Rs 20 and Rs 10 for double and single-occupancy respectively to Rs 600 and Rs 300. But being lenient after the eruption of the protest, the administration reduced it to Rs 300 and Rs 150. Still the decision could not satisfy the agitators rather they want complete roll back.
