Nov. 26/11 – The Supreme Court ordered to conduct floor test in Maharashtra assembly within 24 hours which will be held through open ballot and telecast live.
The court mentioned that the floor test would be conducted by the protem speaker after the members take oath by 5 pm tomorrow. Earlier the governor set 14 days deadline to prove majority in the house.
Last Saturday in the wee hours, the president rule in the state was revoked and Devendra Fadnavis of BJP and Ajit Pawar of NCP took oath as chief minister and deputy chief minister respectively citing support list of MLAs to Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari.
Soon after the NCP party chief Sharad Pawar, Shiv Sena and Congress party went to Supreme Court terming the government formation was illegal and the governor was misled.
