Pakistan in FATF’s ‘Grey List’


Feb. 22/20 – Global terror funding watchdog FATF (Financial Action Task Force) kept Pakistan in its Grey List and warned of dire consequences if the country fails to take strong action on those who are involved in such heinous act.

FATF reached at the decision after carrying out the deliberations for six days ended on Friday in Paris. The body has asked the terrorist breeding nation to complete the action plan by coming June failing which could affect its overall business activities.

The statement issued by FATF reads that multiple deadlines have already given to Pakistan to act on terror financing; however, the country is not seemed to responding. So no more relaxation needs to be given. 

Till date, Pakistan has addressed 14 of 27 action items given to it in controlling funding to terror groups like the Lashkar-e-Taiba, the Jaish-e-Mohammad and the Hizbul Mujahideen, which are responsible for a series of attacks in India.
