Mar. 18/2020 – Paytm Payments Bank Ltd (PPBL) has planned to issue Visa virtual debit cards to all its customers. It aims to offer around 10 million cards during the 2021 fiscal.
Getting much recognition for launching neo-banking in the country, the lender has issued the highest number of RuPay Debit Cards so far and is also growing tremendously in opening accounts.
The issuance of Visa cards will enable the customers of PPBL to transact at all merchants receiving payments through cards. Further they can make international transactions with these cards. The bank also stated that the customers would very soon have an option to request for a physical card. Through this, they can render contactless payment.
E-commerce giant Paytm launched its banking operation in 2017. Within a short span of time, the lender has issued more than 57 million digital debit cards, at least one in every district of India.
